15 monumental tapestries, commissioned by Caterina in the mid-16th century and completed by Maria, tell the story of Artemisia of Caria. Artemisia was the widow of the Persian ruler Mausolus, and ruled after his death conquering the island of Rhodes.
A successful reign, translated in 15 powerful images to justify the political power of the two Medici queens.
